Have you ever felt like there are so many EM resources and so little time to use them all? Have you ever been so overwhelmed that you’re not sure where to start? For this Med Student Over Easy episode, Kaitlin and John are joined by Marco Propersi and Mark Ramzy, both EM Faculty and editors for R.E.B.E.L. EM, to discuss the topic of EM resources.

What is FOAMed?

FOAMed stands for Free Open Access to Medical Education. It has become a transition from traditional textbook learning to any medium that can get the information out to learners for free. FOAMed has transformed over the years and has spanned multiple platforms including blogs, podcasts, Instagram, Twitter, and even TikTok.  The creators of FOAMed content critically appraise the literature and aim to break the information into smaller pieces that are more digestible for the learner. Most of the time, the focus of FOAMed, is cutting-edge content, therefore it should be used as an adjunct to traditional core content learning.
